A woman was injured after losing control of her vehicle on a slippery road in the Jura region on Saturday, October 24, 2026, prompting an emergency response from firefighters and police.
The accident occurred near the top of the Côte de Jeurre, along the RD27 road. According to local reports, wet conditions and suspected hydrocarbon residue on the road may have contributed to the crash.
Driver Trapped Inside Vehicle
The driver reportedly lost control of her car before it struck a rock and was thrown back onto the roadway. Emergency services were called to the scene and found the woman conscious but trapped inside the damaged vehicle.
Firefighters worked to free her from the wreckage. She complained of pain, particularly in her neck and back, before being transported to hospital in Saint-Claude for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were still being assessed, including the role played by the slippery road surface.
Fatal Crash on the Same Road
The latest incident came just one day after a fatal collision on the same stretch of road. On Friday, October 23, a cement-mixer truck reportedly lost control while travelling downhill and collided with an oncoming car.
The woman driving the car, identified in local reporting as Katia Bon, a resident of Chassal-Molinges and mother of two young children, died at the scene.
The two incidents have raised concerns about road conditions in the area, particularly during wet weather.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution on slippery roads while the circumstances of the latest collision are reviewed.
